My protection from abuse order ends in July 08, I want to renew it?

My protection from abuse order ends this july, at that point I want it renewed. Since obtaining the proclaim I fled to another state as my ex repeatedly violated the order. Since I left, he has stopped. In instruct to renew the order, do I go to the original stat it be issued in? Or my current state of residence? And, as he has not violated it in a while, what are the probability that a judge would deny the renewal?
I actually fear my ex have just been biding his time untill the order run up, then the abuse will start again.
I am a victim of maltreat myself and I believe the man who responded is correct in his assumptions. BUT here is a site I check often for info.....my crazy stalker gets released from federal prison surrounded by August this year and I'm a little worried myself. Hope this helps!
An order of protection is single good in the State where it is issued - a courts writ does not run outside its own States borders. If you surface the need for a new order, you want to apply in the State where you now live.

Technically, though, you haven't be under a PO since you moved, which should be encouraging.
