What is a good thank you gift for a lawyer that has worked pro bono for two years, Family Domestic?

My daughter was taken by her father and left the state illegally. My attorney has worked for me for free since she went missing.I might get her back today, or it will go to trial. He does not want money.
HOW ABOUT A HOME COOKED MEAL
How nice of you to ask! What a change from the usual selfish questions here. I suggest $100 or so gift card to Borders or Barnes & Noble, or a $100 or so gift certificate to a gourmet restaurant; or if your lawyer has a hobby or other interest, something in that line.

You might start by writing a letter expressing your appreciation for what he has done for you, and sending it to the local bar association. That organization may then choose to recognize him for his efforts; and if he's done this for you, he's likely done it for others as well. And make sure that you send him a copy of the letter.
Sounds to me like he wants you to be his gift. Of course, I work in the field and while pro bono cases occur, usually it is for a reason (and I am cynical).

If this is a TRUE pro bono with no strings attached, there is no monetary gift under 10g you can make a quid pro quo type deal on. Ergo, purchase something classy for his office or car.
Providing that he likes sports, perhaps gulf? I suggest giving him a free pass for a gulf outing at one of his preferred gulf courses.
The best gift would be a heart felt thank you letter and a picture of you and your daughter together that way when he feels down and out he can remember he did something good.
