Today my friend and I went shopping. I was unaware she had stolen merchandise... and security took us in.?

My friend and I were trying out clothes in separate fitting rooms. I then put the stuff I wasn't getting fund on the racks of return shit. I go to help my friend in her fitting room to take out her stuff <she had a lot of clothes in at hand with her>. Anyways, we're leaving the store, security take us back to their little office and questioned us. My friend apparently have stolen a shirt from the store while she was in the fitting room, and had it underneath her shirt. I didn't enjoy anything on me at all. They took some dumb mug pic of me. made me sign a paper stating I wasn't allowed back contained by the store, because I was an "accomplice". They said I may be fined even though I took nothing. I'd like to know if they would in fact fine me? No cops were called either, they said my diary would still be clean. would it really? The chick that stole is 21, and I am 19. Please... I need some insight.

if you did nothing wrong.. you should not have complied or cooperated near anyone other than law enforcement officer doing their job. detaining you.. against your will is a serious crime if you did nought wrong. look what happened to OJ when he tried to get stuff back "stolen" from him.. he get charged with kidnapping for detaining his "suspect" if someone does a citizen arrest.. they had BETTER be right. you can drop it.. if you be truly innocent.. you can ask a lawyer.. consultation would be free.. cus he'd get his money from the settlement with the relatives that kidnapped you.
They might send a letter asking you to salary a fine, or else go to court. I have hear from a lawyer that you are NOT legally obligated to pay the fine, and almost adjectives of the time the stores will not take people to court. Even if they did take you to court, they would lose for sure because you didn't steal anything and you have no knowledge of your friend's shoplifting action. And by "pinch you to court," I mean they would sue you. The cops were not called so at hand will be absolutely nothing about this on your text.
