If i ran away from a foster home( im 16) what can they do and what are my rights?
Depending on the state you are in, different laws for different states... being 16, you will probably be returned to the foster care system and placed in another home, but keep in mind, the next one could be much worse. Is this home abusive to you, or do you just not fit in?
well. I don't think they can do anything. Just don't get into any trouble with the police till your 18, and you'll be fine. Just be careful out there.. Hopefully you have a place to stay at, because its not safe in the streets for a 16 year old.
What state do you live in?
you can go to court, prove you're able to live on your own and be emancipated
What they can do is pick you up at any time and return you into custody. It is up to you to tell your social worker or the judge just why you ran away. You will then be placed into foster care, either with the same people or another family. If you have a history of running, you may be placed into juvenile facilities where they can keep an eye on you.
You are sixteen going on seventeen. Two years may seem like a lifetime to you, but believe me, they will whiz by like a leaf in the wind. Get a grip on your life. Hold your head up, behave yourself, and look forward to the day you will turn eighteen. In the meantime, get some schooling. Get a G.E.D. Take any course available. You can do it! There's a life out there for you, but not if you are a sixteen year old kid, on your own, hiding from the law.

I also grew up in a foster home and girls would run away,
First I would tell you to talk to your social worker if your problem doesn't get solved you should have a court ordered lawyer call him with your concerns if your living situation is bad, I would recommend not running away because they have started putting children in treatment centers, restricted facility's where you practically have no say, if you are in some sort of abusive home report it, otherwise stick it out it could get worse if you attempt to run it looks bad on you and the judge wont be happy with you. Hope this helps!! Minnesota
You have no rights.. at 16 i was a CCW once upon a time.. you are a ward of the state until 18 and that foster home is your gardian.. so if you ran away they would put you in a tight security group home... and you dont want that... do you?
I'm in foster care, and I heard the social workers guys or whoever talking to my foster parents. If you try to run away, they can only try to talk you out of it. If you run away, they can call the service that the foster home is providing or police or something. something like that.
Of course, that's just how it is with the foster service I'm in.
