Why does our federal government pick out what laws and guidelines it wants to enforce and ignore others?

It would be wise if they did not grant amnesty again. It did not work in the 80's and it does not obligation to happen again. No need to reward criminals just because they get away with it.

If congress grant amnesty, then that would be the law and it is difficult to say the congress is ignore the law by making a law. As to the current situation, every year there is a budget and that budget controls what hard work are made by government agents. The budget for immigration control is miniscule, for several reasons. One, any talk of increasing the budget also mode increasing taxes and the same people that want more done do not want to pay for it. Second, we are currently spending 10 billion per month within Iraq. That money is not available for other purposes.
