Why are muslim countries still in the dark ages?
Hashem Aghajari was charged with blasphemy for saying that Muslims were not 'monkeys' and 'should not blindly follow' the clerics. As well as the death sentence for apostasy and insulting the early imams, he received further sentences of a 10-year ban on teaching, eight years in jail and 74 lashes for lesser offences.
So my answer to why their countries are armpits of the world is that all of the good men and women are in their graves by the time they are 30. The old right wing warhawks kill anyone who threatens their ways, therefore nothing changes. Can anyone name a truly elected head of state in the middle east?

The Dark Ages refers to a period of CHRISTIAN history. It had nothing to do with Islam.

It´s quite horrifyng for us, that a women had grace with a death sentence but for only cheat her husband, but talking about 'dark ages' is not well employed, because it's just a point of view thinking about their culture from our occidental point of viw, maybe they think we're whoes still living in a dark ages from their eastern eyes.

Ethically speaking, people choose to be who they choose to be. If I choose to be muslim and live in the muslim world, that's my choice as a human being to make. If I choose not, I will not. If my government forces upon me the religion, I leave the country. You choose to live as you wish, so do those of which you speak. We should respect the ways of others, even if we do not agree. Nobody is right or wrong. There is no superior race or religion.

Muslim countries are still in the Stone Ages, because societies that demand slavish obedience to a religion (For instance Radical Islam,) hold that the religious book is more important than anything else.
In some muslim countries, the laws are religious based, and call for outrageous punishements for small infractions.
Take for instance, a country where the religious document is being delcared as the only way to live and taken literally. Such a place would be run by the religious leaders, who would tend to be people in it for power and wealth, but not for the good of their followers. Such a country would deny science and would ban education, thus not allowing people to learn to read.
Such people would know that knowledge is power, and if people thought for themselves, they'd want to join the rest of the world and would tell the religious leaders to stick it.

This is a rather complicated question. I would point out that when Europe was in its Dark Ages, the Arab (Muslim) world was in an age of enlightenment. They were the first civilization to conceptualize algebra, among other things, for example.
Why the 'Muslim World' is in a Dark Age now is a question without a simple answer. One big reason is that the fanatics were allowed to take over control - a similar thing occurred in Europe, which precipitated its Dark Age. Wars, and later European colonization and aggression took their toll, the still later US aggression helped. But this is not a full and complete answer.
Many people have spent years getting Doctoral degrees on ONE single aspect of Mideast history and politics. It would probably take many of them to answer this question fully.
That is there way of life, the way they choose to live, and I do not believe we are any other country should try and force a different way of life on these people. This is there traditions they chose the old ways, Just as the Amish in America do.
Its a religious choise and they have that right as Human beings. You know I believe in a God who in the Bible says he will not force himself on us it has to be a free choise, so why do we try and force our religion on others?
