Help with court please?
like one week ago i got pulled over for going 47 mph
in a 25 mph zone....i only have a learners permit..and the cop told me it was wreckless driving and gave me a paper to go to court like in july...and he gave me my permit back and let me drive home...
so what are the possibilities ?
1. they might take it till 2008 (when im 18)
and what other chances ?
c’mon help i want to know my chances
before i go to court and stuff
and by the way i live in Virginia
any chances of not getting my
permit tooken away or something
paying money or something
Now, I would assume that there will certainly be a fine involved here. But I don't think they will talke away your permit. If you show up, the judge might give you a stern lecture about safe driving and order you to a defensive driving class, or driving probation.
I usually won't take such drastic actions such as hiring a lawyer because there is little he/she can do with your case to reduce your fine and such, they will only drag the situation out longer and you end up paying a ton of lawyer fees.
Yeah, and drive safely, you're too young to be speeding in a 25 zone.
Not knowing Va Law...I would just say..GET A LAWYER
Judging from your response....and questions....sounds like a large fine and loss of permit...so a legal counsel can help...check with the free services...
Who Can Be Denied a License
Any person who is a habitual user of alcoholic beverages or is addicted to the use of narcotic drugs.
Any person whose license has been suspended or revoked by this state or any other state or foreign jurisdiction, until the expiration of the suspension or revocation period.
Any person who the Commissioner of Division of Motor Vehicles has good cause to believe would be hazardous to the public safety or welfare when operating a motor vehicle.
Any person who is under 18 years of age and not enrolled in or graduated from an approved educational institution.
So, with the above information, the judge has the discretion to revoke or suspend your privilege to drive, fine you, and place you on probation.
As a juvenile I'd seriously doubt anything more serious will become of your case!
Best wishes and remember that driving is a privilege not a right....you share the road!
