Been hit with my 1st ever Penalty Notice for 'Congestion Charging' violation ?

** PLEASE DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE DETAILS BELOW!! ** All these years I've heard about this thing call 'the congestion charge' - that was it, just 'heard it' being mentioned time and time again on LBC radio. Never actualy care much to give it any more thought though. Infact, had I known what it be I'd have perhaps evaded this penalty discern I recieved by post today. To put it mildly, im in shock and disbelief (a) this. I feel like I'm individual cheated out of my money, or its being taken away from me unfairly. Up until the 8th of October 2008, I had little subsequent to no reason to venture off into London (Sheps Bush - Kensington - Hammersmith) , but I have to go that day to find Hammersmith Hospital - i drove by car. Well today, within the post I received a payment check to me from overseas (good mail) and alongside it another envelope, brown one. Opened it, and to my absolute shock and horror I see 'Penalty Charge Notice' in bold white junk mail in a blue caption at the top (below 'Congestion Charging - Transport for London'. Basically what I wanted to ask be, can I appeal against it ? if so, how do I go about it and what would you advise me to do ? Issue date be 10th of october and the b45tards sent it today, 4 days later. If i have 14 days from the issue date, that means I hold just 10 days to pay lb60 - thats so fook1ng unfair man. Listen, I cultured the hard way, the meaning of 'congestion charge' ...my dumb ass wikipedia'd it up purely now, it all made sense after reading the first few lines which explained it. What a v.5tupid way to muffle traffic, i bet it doesnt work heh. man I dunno what I am to do now, my whole life have coming crashing to a grinding halt. Its over now, its all over for me. I may as just voluntarily consent to them arrest me and strip away the remainder of my human rights. * sigh *

When you entered the CC zone there were signs on adjectives approach roads telling you as much as well as a 4 foot C painted on the road as you enter the zone. If you pay on the day it's lb8 - if you forget until the next time its lb10. As the Hammersmith hospital website tells you, it is outside the CC zone (on the western side) - you only pay if you drive through London to get hold of there. In which case there are signs in the order of every 500 yards. So your entire life has come crashing down over a lb60 fine? Sounds similar to you may have issues which go beyond your (apparent) habit of driving near your eyes closed and listening to the delights of LBC with your ears blocked.. I suppose you could appeal on the spring of an apparent disability - but even the congenitally stupid have to pay road fines and you are clearly not contained by that category as you can type a coherent sentence.
Nothing you can do just pay it and forget about it, it aint the cease of the world!
