Lawyers cannot split fees for legal services with non-lawyers?
true or false?
To be sure check out the American Bar Association, they will enjoy something in regrds to the ethical rules for attorneys
Might depend on jurisdiction...
But in Ontario, at least, it's generally true, near limited exceptions. It's possible to have a multi-disciplinary practice involving lawyers and non-lawyers, and to enjoy a partnership agreement which involves fee-splitting between the partners. I don't think they can split fees for legal services. They CAN retribution non-lawyers for services required to perform the legal services they are paid for.
