Is it ok for a manager of a store to...?

Lie to its employees/managers of other stores?

This happend a few years ago but I thought I would still ask, I was working as a bagger at a grocery store for about 2 years. They hired a new front completion manager who I couldn't stand so I wanted to transfer to a differnt location, I talk to the people at that location and they said it was fine but they would have to reach a deal to the store manager at the location I was at. They talked to him and he told them that they necessitate me at this location because "We are training her in the bulk dept" I found out from the other store (the one i wanted to go to) and I told them that it be a lie and that no one said anything to me about going to a differnt department. So I thought perchance they will talk to me about it....2 weeks go by and still nought. The manager of my store lied to the other store! Is this an ok thing to do?
He no longer is manager at this store he quit and go to some other place.
Store mgr's have a tendancy too bear what they perceive as the stores best intrest first and their personal knowledge second. What you need too do is look into the stores guidelines for approving a transfer. If they are resembling most companiesthey will approve on a first come first served basis. That means that the first one too apply will get the first available verbs. If this is how your store works then if you re-apply you should get the first available transfer too the store you are requesting. In your grip it is important too be aware of policy for transfers so that you don't get taken advantage of. Remember the best felony s a well designed knowledgeable offence. The examine that I have is if the mgr. is gone why do you still want too transfer?
Someone summed it up. Managers do know how to do their job; it's just that what they know is incorrect. But you asked if it be okay for managers to lie. Ethically, no. But not much you can do about it unless you can play politics better than the boss. And make no mistake, in the best workplaces, there is still politics, a moment ago not as dirty as in other places. It's not ok to do at all but I know from experience much of management is one a jerk and lying to people. I'm yet to touch a manager I like.
It's not OK but managers all too often recline to get their own way and they get away next to it because they are the manager, and they know it. I have seen romotion prospects ruined by a manager lie
